Crop-wise advice
Main crops in Solapur and what to use
Pomegranate, Sugarcane, Onion, Jowar and Grapes: what we suggest for each.
Sugarcane
Inline drip with 60-90 cm emitter spacing for sugarcane, a lay-flat sub line pipe for the sub-main, and a screen filter to stop clogging.
Onion
Onion is planted close together, so rain pipe or flat drip with 20-30 cm emitter spacing gives even moisture across the bed.
Jowar
Rabi jowar on stored soil moisture gains from a light rain pipe watering at critical stages.
Grapes
Inline or online drip along each vine row, with a screen filter at the head. Vineyards need frequent spraying, so growers prefer the 12x18 double motor pump.
