Paddy (rice)
Paddy is flood-irrigated, so here the need is spraying: a 12x12 or 12x18 battery pump covers wet fields without a fuel engine.

Crop-wise advice
Main crops in Odisha and what to use
Paddy (rice), Vegetables and Groundnut: what we suggest for each.
Vegetables
Flat drip with 20-30 cm spacing under mulching paper saves water and cuts weeding. A 12x12 battery pump covers regular spraying.
Groundnut
Groundnut is closely spaced, so rain pipe waters the whole bed evenly.
